Trip to Oklahoma City

I traveled down to Oklahoma City on Saturday, and found a block with three old shops that I thought interesting.  These are on Pennsylvania Ave on the Northwest side of town.

A barber shop.

A club (that used to be a cafe).
J.O.'s Corner Cafe

And an old book store.

Hannah's Shoes

Hannah's Shoes

These are Hannah's shoes. When I took the photo, Hannah said, "what are you doing?" I said, "I'm taking a photo of your shoes." And that was pretty much that.

Park Bench, East End

On the East End of Downtown Tulsa, just outside the inner loop on South Madison there is an old neighborhood.

There, the Herbold Apartment Building provides a smoking area which is across the street from the apartments, and next to a fence that looks down on the busy highway. From here you can watch cars and trucks and buses go by at 60 miles per hour. From here you can meditate or worry or stare into the dissonant whirring of progress and the tranquility of the noisy city.

And maybe have another cigarette.
